Q-Data Interpreter
The Q-Data Interpreter module consists of routines, scripts, stored procedures, and components located on the server. This module “explodes” raw data into a reportable format. This functionality is unique to Q-Trace and is shown to highly increase system performance. This module is set up to perform all the “heavy-duty” calculations and tasks, thus reducing burden from shop-floor PCs.
The report data typically resides in multiple databases (a database holds one year worth of data) and the scripts automatically update the appropriate database. The purpose of this architecture is twofold:
- To ensure portability across different servers and …
- Ability to store multiple years of data on a single server (or on a cluster)
The system is designed to hold at least 5 full years of “exploded” data ( more if the server resources permit it ). Additional functionality provides auto housekeeping routines for the backup and archival of older data.
One of the unique benefits of this module is that it always archives the raw data. In case of faulty configuration or bad data being sent up, the original raw data is always available for diagnostic purposes.
