Quantum’s Q-Trace is a web-based product suite designed to collect, store, and report traceability data related to manufactured and/or assembled parts. The Q-Trace suite consists of seven (7) separate product modules. Q-Trace modules have been years in development and are proven in high volume manufacturing environments. Each Q-Trace software module is designed to provide maximum flexibility and ease of configuration. Quantum’s years of experience in software development, coupled with our plant floor expertise has enabled us to create this world class software suite.

Q-Trace application modules are fundamentally broken into three (3) logical groups:

1. Data Collection – the data collection module group consists of: Q-Links, Q-Data Interpreter, and Q-Data Processor. Data collection modules are required to physically obtain part/process data from the shop floor. Data collection software can be thought of as the “bridge” between the shop floor (PLCs, RFID Equipment, Tag Readers, Vision Systems, Test Equipment, etc...) and a Traceability database. In many cases, data must be “massaged” prior to database logging; additionally, handshaking with the shop floor controls may be required to ensure the data was logged, prior to releasing the part. 2. System Configuration – the system configuration module group consists of: Q-Tag Editor, Q-Line Editor, and Q-Plant Editor. Quantum’s Q-Trace system configuration modules truly set our product apart. All aspects of how the product relates to your unique requirements can be configured. You build plant profiles, line layouts, data layouts, etc. and all via web-based graphical (drag and drop) user interfaces. As your plant line layouts change to support model changes, or data requirements change to track and analyze potential quality problems, you’ll have the tools to respond. No more fighting with hard-coded applications and taking on the risk, and maintenance, of continuous software releases. 3. Data Analysis – Traceability data analysis is provided via Quantum’s Q-Net Report, Business Intelligence product. Q-Net, is a cost effective web-based reporting / data analysis tool which is capable of extracting data from virtually all mainstream databases / spreadsheet products. Q-Net includes a comprehensive development environment to create reports which are then released to a user community. Basic users simply login (if required) and are presented with a list of categorized report links – that relate to them. Reports are run when the link is clicked, so data is always current – no need to archive old reports if you don’t want to. Additionally, Q-Net can be used to report on virtually any data, it is not tied exclusively to the Q-Trace suite. For example, use Q-Net to report on Quality, HR, Finance, Maintenance, etc... If Q-Net has network access to the database, you can report on it.
